Convention 2008

Our Federation conventions: open, democratic debate

Every two years, more than 1,000 rank and file trade union members elected from their locals across BC gather in Vancouver to set the direction of the labour movement. This makes the Federation one of the most grassroots, open, democratic civic institutions in the province. Every other year, nearly 800 gather for a shorter policy convention that goes more deeply into current issues.
