Young Worker's Committee

The Young Worker’s Committee was formed to build unity amongst young workers, both within the labour movement and communities. The committee works to encourage active involvement of young activists in issues that affect us; to continue to expand our labour education program in high schools across the province; and to implement education/training opportunities for young workers.

Over the past few years the Committee has grown significantly, with representatives from various public and private sector unions, as well as community organizations. The committee has also been able to hold a Young Worker’s Conference, Solidarity Works!, and planning sessions. At the 2006 B.C. Federation of Labour Convention, delegates approved a seat on the Executive Council for the Young Worker’s Committee.
