Local politicians join B.C. Federation of Labour delegates to take minimum wage campaign to Vancouver streets

VANCOUVER - Local politicians join over 900 delegates attending the B.C. Federation of Labour's annual Convention in gathering support for the Federation's call for a $10 minimum wage.

Delegates will take to the streets of downtown Vancouver, area Skytrain stations and other public locations to make their case for the $10 minimum wage. As well the Federation's $10 NOW aerial banner will be flying across metro Vancouver skies.

In his opening address yesterday, Federation President, Jim Sinclair pledged to keep up the fight for a $10 minimum wage.  Over 50,000 people have signed the Federation's $10 NOW petition, while over 30 municipal councils, the Union of BC Municipalities, and organizations like First Call BC have endorsed the call for a $10 minimum wage.

Wednesday will see Convention addresses from both BC NDP leader, Carole James and Canadian Labour Congress President, Ken Georgetti.
