Housing budget spends less on housing, more on tax cuts

April 26, 2007

New statistics show the BC Liberal’s have spent more in the budget on tax cuts to the wealthy than their recent announcement to spend $80 million to purchase 15 buildings for social housing.

The analysis by political pundit and economist David Schreck, points out that those over 20 percent of the tax cut announced by Carole Taylor in February's so-called "housing budget," will go to those with an income over $100,000, costing the BC treasury $105 million annually.
